"ON THE WAY" by Artist Shivani Singh
ON THE WAY is a compelling multimedia art exhibition by young contemporary artist Shivani Singh, presented at Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi, from 27 January to 2 February 2026. Born in 2002 and rooted in the cultural landscape of Sanganer, Jaipur, the artist draws profound inspiration from the world-famous Sanganeri hand block printing tradition inherited from her family. The exhibition reimagines this rich heritage through a contemporary lens, seamlessly blending technology, nature, and everyday life. Using block-printed fabrics alongside materials such as wood, cardboard, iron, plastic, and found objects, Shivani transforms ordinary moments, social conditions, and the daily struggles of people and animals into immersive installations.
ON THE WAY reflects on human emotions, responsibilities, and resilience, revealing the hidden aesthetic beauty of the everyday.
Through experimentation and reflection, the exhibition challenges societal norms and invites viewers to re-evaluate their own routines, offering a fresh perspective on tradition, authenticity, and modern existence.
