“Becoming – A State of Continuous Transformation” by Dr. Pralay Dutta
The solo exhibition “Becoming – A State of Continuous Transformation” by Dr. Pralay Dutta was held at the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS), 1 Rafi Marg, New Delhi, from 20 to 26 February 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated by Biman Bihari Das, Padma Shri awardee, renowned sculptor and President of AIFACS, in the esteemed presence of Taslima Nasrin, noted writer and physician.
Becoming presented a contemplative series of abstract works exploring transformation as a continuous state of evolution. Through layered textures, subtle tonal modulations, and reworked surfaces, forms emerged and dissolved, reflecting a dialogue between structure and spontaneity. Each canvas carried traces of time and introspection, inviting viewers into a meditative visual experience.
Academically trained in Commercial Arts at Rabindra Bharati University and holding a Master’s degree in Literature from North Bengal University, Dr. Dutta brought philosophical depth and structural discipline to his abstraction. His works have been exhibited widely, including at Jehangir Art Gallery and Lalit Kala Akademi.
The exhibition witnessed an engaging response from artists, critics, and art enthusiasts throughout its duration.
