Successful Organization of the Two-Day ABHYAS -ONE Indian Contemporary Dance Festival by Space Performing Arts with the Support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India

The renowned institution dedicated to Art and Culture, Space Performing Arts, successfully organized a two-day Indian Contemporary Dance Festival “Abhiyas-1” on 29th and 30th August 2025 at the Civil Services Officers’ Institute (CSOI) Auditorium, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and proved to be a resounding success.
The festival was graced by distinguished guests. The Chief Guest was Dance Guru Kishore Sharma, while the Special Guests included Mrs. Manisha Swami, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs and Deputy Director, ICCR; Colonel Vijay Kumar Yadav, General Manager, CSOI; and musician and artist Sunil Belwal.
The organizer and director of the festival was Raja Anand, an artist, director, and founder of Space Performing Arts. The opening performance was “Natya Shastra”, choreographed and directed by Raja Anand. “Shadow Puppet Show” was presented by Umesh Kumar. The second performance “Roopang Delhi” was choreographed by Satroopa and the Nrityangana Dance Group. The third performance “Linga Bhairavi” was choreographed by Neha Gupta, followed by the fourth performance “Shiva Anukriti”, choreographed by Kuleshwar Kumar Thakur.
On the second day of the festival, the first performance “Geetopdesham” was choreographed by Guru Thiruvattar Jagadisan and performed by his group. The second presentation “Mahishasura Mardini” was choreographed by Vikram Mohan and performed by the Vikram Mohan Dance Foundation. The third performance “Shashwat Stambh – The Saga of Four Yugas” was choreographed by Supriya Mehra and presented by Nritya Tarangini. The final presentation of the festival was “Shakti” (a re-imagination of the life of Draupadi), choreographed by Alia Sharma.
The festival’s lighting design was by Atul Mishra, and the anchoring was done by Manyata Pandey. The event was successfully organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
