Kismat Art Gallery is currently hosting an enthralling art exhibition titled “Bengal Resonance: Masterpieces Unveiled,” featuring a private collection by artist and art collector, Mr. Milind Limbekar. Mr. Limbekar, who himself is an artist with a postgraduate degree in painting from Baroda and Mumbai, embarked on his journey of art collection over two decades ago in 1995, and since then there has been no looking back. Initially drawn to contemporary artists, his passion gradually shifted towards Bengal art, recognizing its pivotal role in shaping the narrative of Indian art.

The exhibition currently on display offers a curated glimpse into Mr. Limbekar’s extensive collection, showcasing a diverse array of Bengal artworks. Noteworthy among these are smaller paintings, thoughtfully selected to align with the gallery’s preferences, including Sudhir Khastgir’s evocative portrayal of mother and child.

Despite the financial investment required, Mr. Limbekar finds immense pleasure and joy in acquiring original masterpieces, shaping his extensive collection predominantly focused on Bengal art. Drawing from his own experiences, he encourages artists to support each other and to foster strong relationships with art galleries, recognizing their vital role in the art ecosystem.
